Operations Manager

Bunzl South Florida 2306 Miramar, FL 33025, USA Overview The Operations Manager will provide leadership to the branch and manage a variety of general warehouse activities in an accurate, efficient and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities Manage the overall operations of the facility, including supervising team members, monitoring expenses and overseeing P&L functions. Create and ensure a safe workplace and promote a culture of safety for the facility. Partner with internal leadership teams (Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Logistics) to maximize profitability, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Lead recruitment and onboarding to hire top talent and improve the organization. Develop associates to become leaders of tomorrow by coaching, counseling and motivating them to attain optimum performance, productivity levels, and morale. Provide effective communication and promote teamwork among the team to aid in the accomplishment of departmental objectives. Ensure that all Company and Human Resources policies and practices are communicated to the team members and practiced consistently. Be accountable for compliance with all federal, state, local regulatory guidelines, including OSHA Standards and DOT regulations. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred. 5 years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years’ experience in Warehouse Department management, preferably managing a unionized workforce. Knowledge of local, state and federal OSHA safety and FMCR regulations. Experience in forklift certification and inspection, hazmat certification, and operating various warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.). Must be able to lift heavy objects (occasionally between 60-75 lbs.) with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to work regularly at a height of up to 26 feet above the ground (with provided safety equipment/processes/training). Strong leadership and organizational skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule with a "hands‑on" management style. Detail-oriented, a team player, with excellent oral and written skills; strong organizational skills and driven to excel.
