Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical (Multiple Specialty Units Available)

Location: Salem, VA
Facility Type: Premier Acute Care Medical Center (500+ beds) / Regional Healthcare Hub
Schedule: Full-Time | Mixed / Nights | Rotating Weekends
Pay Rate: $31.70 – $47.54/Hour (Midpoint: $39.62/Hour)
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000
Relocation Assistance: $1,500 Package

Position Overview

We are seeking compassionate and adaptable Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses (RN) to join a large acute care hospital offering multiple specialty pathways, including Oncology and Ortho-Trauma units. This role provides strong clinical growth opportunities within a high-performing, fully supported hospital environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments on admission and throughout each shift.

• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report clinical changes.

• Administer medications and carry out physician-ordered treatments.

• Provide direct bedside nursing care across diverse medical-surgical populations.

• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.

• Participate in cross-training across multiple specialty units as needed.

• Ensure compliance with hospital safety, infection control, and care standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required).

• Active RN license in Virginia or Compact RN license.

• BLS/BCLS certification required within 30 days of start date.

• Prior nursing experience required.

• Acute care experience preferred but not mandatory.

• Strong adaptability and willingness to work across specialty units.
