Job Title: Machine Operator I

Location: 10210 Genetic Center Drive, San Diego CA 92121

Duration: 12 months

Shift:

1st shift: $19.50/hourly (6am-2:30pm/M-F)

2nd Shift: $21.50/hourly (2:15pm – 10:45pm)

Required Education:

High School Diploma, or equivalent

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor functions of equipment and operate per documented procedures including maintaining operational logbooks.

Provide technicians with symptoms of equipment failures, when required.

Assist in Preventative Maintenance PM following procedures.

Support material handling as necessary.

Maintain segregation of materials and lot and or receiving numbers.

Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition.

Adhere to and demonstrate compliance to all company and department standard operating procedures including but not limited to: GMP, device history record, hazard communication and safety rules - Utilize written procedures and training to accomplish tasks noted above.

Accept full accountability for product quality.

Report to supervisor or management unsolved problems encountered during the workday.

Maintain complete and accurate records of work-in-process, component inventories and relative documentation.

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Machine Operator will operate manufacturing equipment according to established specifications, and standard operating procedures and work instructions.

An operator must demonstrate steady progress in learning all equipment and jobs in the assigned manufacturing area.

He and or she must also exhibit the ability to follow instructions of supervisor while observing the quality of raw and finished goods before, during and after production.

Intake Call:

Entry-level candidates strongly preferred.

Open to recent High School graduates or GED recipients.

No prior machine operation experience required.

Seeking candidates who are eager to learn, coachable, and highly trainable.

Reliability, attendance, and positive attitude are critical for success.

Preferred Background:

Candidates with demonstrated longevity and stability in previous employment.

Preference for candidates with at least 1+ year tenure in prior roles when applicable.

Manufacturing, warehouse, production, assembly, or other hands-on experience is acceptable but not required.

Do Not Submit:

Candidates with CNC machining/operator backgrounds.

Manager has historically experienced very low offer acceptance rates from CNC candidates and specifically requests recruiters avoid targeting this talent pool.

Candidates with extensive job-hopping patterns (multiple short-term roles over several years) are generally not preferred.

Interview Process:

Onsite interview during 2nd shift hours.

Approximately 1 hour.

Conducted by hiring manager and production leads.

Includes facility walkthrough/tour.
