Ground Operations Specialist

job summary:
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Ground Operations Specialist to join our fast-paced fulfillment and delivery team. In this role, you will be on the front lines actively performing picking, packing, and aircraft loading activities while simultaneously stepping up to support the Operations Team Lead in daily supervisory duties. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic settings, leads by example, and is looking to develop their leadership career. A foundational understanding of supply chain processes and performance metrics is highly desirable.

Various shifts are available. Core hours are 8:00am-8:00pm, but hours will vary between 6:00am-10:00pm with a max of 40 hours a week. Hours are dependent upon business needs, personal preference, and may vary between a traditional 8 hours, 5 days a week or even 12, 12, 12, 4.

responsibilities:

• Pick & Pack Orders: Accurately locate, pick, and pack customer orders according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform Quality Control: Complete weight, accuracy, and quality checks to ensure orders meet operational requirements before delivery.
• Load Delivery Aircraft: Safely and securely load approved packages onto delivery aircraft while following all required safety procedures.
• Prepare the Site for Operations: Assist with morning setup and ensure the operational area is clean, organized, safe, and ready for daily activity.
• Support Inventory Management: Perform daily inventory counts and help maintain accurate stock levels.
• Maintain Equipment: Handle operational equipment carefully and report equipment, safety, or maintenance concerns.
• Support Team Leadership: Assist the Operations Team Lead with daily activities and help maintain an efficient workflow during busy periods.
• Maintain Safety Standards: Follow all safety policies, SOPs, and operational procedures while maintaining strong attention to detail.

qualifications:
- 1 or more years of experience in a fast-paced environment (logistics, retail, warehouse, or fulfillment).

- Proven experience or strong desire to step into a leadership role; experience coaching or training peers is a plus.

- Good understanding of standard warehouse/supply chain processes and exposure to performance metrics (e.g., order accuracy, cycle times, throughput).

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a heavy focus on safety details.

- Ability to pass a background check and maintain a valid driver's license for occasional travel between sector sites.

- Ability to work outdoors, stand for long periods, and comfortably lift up to 35 lbs.

- Availability required between 6 AM and 10 PM, 7 days/week (up to 40 hours per week). Adherence to strict work hours is mandatory.
