Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting human resources activities at the site level. Responsibilities Counsel functional heads, plant managers, supervisors, and employees on human resources activities including policies and procedures, benefit plans, job-related concerns, and interpersonal relationships with peers and supervisors. Administers activities related to corporate and plant employment practices. Assist with recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, and promoting employees. Advise and assist functional leaders, plant managers, and supervisors with employee relations issues, complaints, and discipline, including terminations; ensure discipline is administered fairly and consistently. Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation, training, and development programs for salaried employees. Manage annual performance, compensation, and talent review processes for assigned groups. Assist site and HR management in developing and executing employee development plans and talent planning initiatives to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders. Conduct human resources-related training. Oversee the administration of compensation, benefits, vacation, sick leave, and absence programs; work with Total Rewards on compensation surveys, job evaluations, promotions, or pay adjustments. Participate in projects that benefit the HR function across multiple sites or business units. Comply with all Company policies and procedures; support goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence; participate on project teams as required. Education, Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. SHRM or HRCI certifiedprofessional preferred. Minimum of seven years of progressive HR experience with exposure to compensation, performance management, talent management, and employee or labor relations. Three or more years’ HR experience at an industrial or manufacturing facility. Current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card required. Background screening, including motor vehicle record screening, drug testing and pre-employment physical requirements before starting work. General knowledge of laws/regulations pertaining to benefit administration in the U.S. Supervisory experience is preferred. Experience using Workday preferred. Ability to research/resolve problems in a timely manner; ability to work independently to resolve issues day-to-day. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typically office-based. Some work may be required in operating units, which may require PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.). Travel may occasionally be required (air or auto).
