Parking Lot MonitorJOB TITLE: Parking Lot MonitorDATE REVISED: February 6, 2023REPORTS TO: Chief of PoliceDEPARTMENT/CAMPUS: Police ServicesFLSA: NonexemptPAY GRADE/DUTY DAYS: PS2, 205 or 240Job Purpose SummaryThis position is responsible for actively monitoring parking areas and ensuring that all safety and related requirements are maintained and adhered to at all times for assigned parking lots.Key Functions, Essential Duties, and ResponsibilitiesParking Lot Monitoring1. Maintains high levels of awareness and attention throughout the exterior campus and assigned areas to deter unwanted incidents including, without limitation, criminal activity.2. Prepares, or otherwise provides, incident reports and/or written statements of incidents pertaining to unwanted incidents including, without limitation, criminal activity.3. Directs student and campus issues to appropriate school administration personnel, as necessary.4. Assists with carrying out traffic control duties in accordance with established protocol, as assigned.5. Utilizes police and school radio communications including, without limitation, two-way radio communications, and the phonetic alphabet.6. Maintains and cares for assigned golf cart to include performing of general maintenance.7. Will be responsible for the care of their assigned golf cart, including general maintenance and charging functions.8. Will be available for specialized assignments that may include temporary shift changes, based on the needs of the department and district.Compliance9. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and practices within the department and District, with all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, as well as with all applicable guidelines, standards, and requirements as set forth by governing bodies including, without limitation, State Board of Education.10. Prepares and submits required reports to appropriate personnel, as needed.11. Maintains relevant and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of applicable compliance requirements as they relate to the job function.12. Monitors respective work, and work of others, for variances and anomalies.13. Identifies and timely reports any known or suspected compliance variances to appropriate personnel.14. Assists with internal activities associated with audits, as assigned.15. Adheres to all other District wide policies and procedures including, but not limited to, human resources, safety, and emergency protocols.General16. Consistently demonstrates support towards the District's Shared Vision, Mission, and Promise Purpose.17. Assists department leadership in the compilation of miscellaneous confidential reports.18. This position requires the frequent use, or potential of frequent use, of a motor vehicle, two-way radio, and fire extinguisher. The working environment consists of frequent exposure to an outdoor non-climate controlled setting, and occasional exposure to an indoor climate controlled setting. This position will be subject to potentially adverse and hazardous working conditions including, without limitation, inclement weather conditions, traffic and related roadway activity, as well as frequent exposure to sun, heat, and cold temperature conditions. This position is subject to prolonged hours, shift work, and on-call duty, and requires the ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
