About the Role:

A well-established boutique law firm in Perth, Western Australia, with a strong focus on the resources sector, is seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with at least 3 years of post-admission experience in commercial litigation who is looking to work on sophisticated matters within the mining and resources sector. Candidates with direct mining and resources litigation experience are preferred, while lawyers with strong commercial litigation backgrounds and a genuine interest in transitioning into the resources space are also encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will work closely with supportive partners and a close-knit team while handling complex commercial disputes and developing their expertise within a specialist resources-focused practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle a diverse range of commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters.
• Advise clients on complex commercial disputes and litigation strategy.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical, commercially focused legal advice.
• Draft pleadings, legal correspondence, submissions, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Manage matters through various stages of litigation and dispute resolution.
• Assist with matters involving mining, resources, and related commercial disputes.
• Prepare for and participate in negotiations, mediations, hearings, and other dispute resolution processes.
• Work closely with partners and colleagues to develop effective legal strategies and achieve strong client outcomes.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide clear, timely, and commercially focused advice.
• Maintain high professional and ethical standards while managing competing deadlines and priorities.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm's resources-focused litigation practice.

Required Qualifications:

• J.D. or equivalent Australian law degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to practice law in Western Australia.
• Minimum 3 years of post-admission legal experience.
• Strong experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
• Previous experience in mining and resources litigation is highly preferred.
• Lawyers without direct resources experience but with a strong desire to transition into the mining and resources sector are encouraged to apply.
• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
• Commercially minded approach with sound legal judgment and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a close-knit team.
