Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing care for cats and dogs and is seeking a full-time Medical Director to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to lead a close-knit practice that combines high-quality medicine with a collaborative, supportive culture. Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will lead the clinical team while continuing to practice as a veterinarian, setting the standard for medical excellence, patient care, and client service. Responsibilities include mentoring and developing associate veterinarians, conducting performance discussions, supporting professional development, and fostering a culture of collaboration and retention. Working closely with the Practice Manager, the Medical Director will help drive hospital performance, contribute to operational planning, oversee compliance with medical and DEA regulations, and promote continuous improvement across the practice. Additional responsibilities include leading doctor meetings, supporting mentorship and externship programmes, championing recruitment initiatives, and representing the hospital through community engagement. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian with strong leadership and clinical skills.

Practice Details
This established small animal hospital has served its community for more than 35 years, providing compassionate veterinary care in a welcoming environment. The practice is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, a full in-house pharmacy, blood and laboratory testing capabilities, electrocardiography (ECG), tonometry, laser therapy, and modern anaesthetic monitoring equipment. Services include wellness and preventative care, vaccinations, puppy and kitten care, senior pet care, internal medicine, cardiology, endocrinology, dentistry, dental surgery, soft tissue surgery, spay and neuter procedures, mass removals, pain management, parasite prevention, nutrition counselling, microchipping, hospice and euthanasia, radiology, ultrasound, and advanced diagnostic services. The hospital fosters a collaborative culture where professional development, mentorship, and exceptional patient care are prioritised. Hospital hours are Monday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Tuesday 8:00 AM-6:00 PM, Wednesday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Thursday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM-1:00 PM, and closed on Sundays.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
