Our first restaurant, Bajo , is a Spanish-Japanese restaurant and listening bar opening this fall in Blagden Alley, Washington, DC.

We are looking for motivated, detail-oriented Line Cooks to join the opening team at Bajo.

The Role

We are looking for motivated, detail-oriented Line Cooks to join the opening team at Bajo. This is an opportunity to be part of a new restaurant from the beginning, working alongside an experienced leadership team and contributing to the development of a strong kitchen culture.

Our cuisine explores the intersection of Spanish culinary traditions and Japanese techniques, with a focus on quality ingredients, seasonality, and precise execution.

Responsibilities include:

• Execute dishes according to recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.

• Maintain consistency, quality, and attention to detail during service.

• Prepare ingredients and maintain an organized, clean, and efficient station.

• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures.

• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.

• Assist with prep, inventory, and receiving deliveries as needed.

• Maintain a professional attitude and a strong sense of accountability.

• Contribute to a positive kitchen environment built on teamwork and continuous improvement.

The Candidate

We are looking for cooks with:

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen preferred.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to follow direction while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation & Benefits
