Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students at a middle school in Tacoma, Washington, for the 2026–2027 school year.

The SLPA will work alongside a virtual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students. Middle school experience is preferred, but candidates with other school-based experience who are comfortable working with middle school students are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech and language services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP.

• Support implementation of individualized speech and language treatment plans.

• Work with students across a caseload of approximately 35–40 students .

• Collect and document student data and progress.

• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and the supervising SLP.

• Support students' communication and academic participation within the school environment.

• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and professional requirements.

• Follow treatment plans and recommendations established by the supervising SLP.

Qualifications

• Washington State SLPA licensure required.

• Must be fingerprinted through OSPI , or be willing to obtain the required OSPI fingerprint clearance.

• Middle school experience preferred, but not required.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with a virtual supervising SLP.

• Experience working with school-age students preferred.
