Job Description & Requirements

Clinical Setting

• ~140-bed hospital, not a trauma center
• ED sees ~85 patients/day
• Bed capacity: 22 + surge beds
• Common cases: chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, trauma (MVCs), mental health, HTN

Required Certifications

• Active Georgia RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm)
• TNCC and ENA certification preferred (not required)

Key Skills Needed

• Emergency nursing with high-acuity patient management
• IV drips (heparin, insulin, dopamine, levophed, etc.)
• Phlebotomy / IV skills
• Telemetry strip interpretation
• Use of EPIC EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell, Phillips monitors

Work Environment

• RN-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4
• Team includes RT, hospitalists, intensivists 24/7
• Possible floating within ED or to Navicent ER (Macon)
• Supportive unit culture with experienced staff
