In this role, you will design and customize pressure-containing equipment and mechanical systems for a range of industrial applications.This is a hands-on engineering position where your designs are not just theoretical—you'll see them built, tested, and used in real-world environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and modify pressure-containing equipment and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorksInterpret customer specifications, datasheets, and industry requirements to develop compliant design solutionsPerform engineering calculations (pressure design, stress analysis, tolerances, material selection)Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, PED, IECEx, CRN)Create and release detailed drawings, models, routers, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)Support product testing, certification, and technical documentationCollaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, and quality teamsApply design for manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve production efficiencyTroubleshoot design issues and contribute to continuous product improvementRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD softwareFamiliar with ASME codes and pressure-containing equipment designUnderstanding of machining, fabrication, and assembly processesStrong attention to detail with a proactive, ownership mindsetPreferred Qualifications3+ years of mechanical design experience in oil & gas, energy, or industrial manufacturingExperience with:Valves, regulators, or pressure control equipmentInstrumentation or electrical componentsEngineering calculationsValidating designsFamiliarity with certification standards (PED, CRN, IECEx)Why Join Welker?Work on real, built products from concept to productionBe part of a collaborative, cross-functional engineering teamGain exposure to both legacy product improvements and new product developmentJoin a stable, family-owned company with long-term growthCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary (based on experience, education, and potential)Health, dental, vision, life, and long term disability insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and paid holidaysTuition reimbursementAdditional RequirementsMust be authorized to work in the U.S.Must successfully complete a drug screen, physical, and background checkIf you're ready to design impactful products and see your work come to life, we'd love to hear from you.
