We are committed to nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—while building strong, connected communities.Position OverviewWe are seeking a caring, dependable, and safety-focused Part-Time Bus Attendant to support the safe transportation of students to and from school. Working alongside the bus driver, the Bus Attendant is responsible for supervising students, promoting appropriate behavior, and ensuring students safely board, ride, and exit the bus.This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and are committed to creating a safe, positive, and welcoming transportation experience.Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Safety & SupervisionSupervise students during morning and afternoon bus routesAssist students with boarding, seating, and safely exiting the busEnsure students follow bus safety rules and remain seated during transportSupport students with special needs, as applicableTransportation SupportAssist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environmentCommunicate safety concerns or student behavior issues to the driver and school administrationAssist with emergency evacuation drills and emergency situations when necessaryStudent & Family EngagementBuild positive relationships with students while promoting respectful behaviorCommunicate professionally with parents, school staff, and transportation personnelHelp create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere during daily transportationPerform additional duties as assigned to support transportation and school operations.Why Join ITAV?Make an Impact: Help ensure students arrive at and leave school safely every day.Grow Your Career: Gain valuable experience working with children in an educational setting.Be in Community: Join a caring, mission-driven team dedicated to student success and safety.Support Student Success: Play an important role in creating a positive start and end to each student's school day.Position DetailsLocations: Bronzeville (Chicago, IL)Position Type: Part-Time, 12-Month PositionSalary Range: $17.05/hr - $19.00/hrSchedule: Morning and afternoon routesFunding & Position StabilityThis position is supported through grant-funded programs that are integral to ITAV’s education model.
