Position: Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Location: Palmetto, GA
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7A-3P
Pay: Up to $19/hr

Job Summary
We are hiring a Shipping/Receiving Clerk for a client in the warehouse and distribution space in Palmetto, GA. This role handles documentation for all inbound and outbound traffic, coordinates carrier pickups, and works closely with the shipping manager to keep customer freight moving on schedule.

Responsibilities

Perform check-in and check-out of carrier drivers
Maintain logs of pickup appointments, including arrival times, loading times, departure times, and load tracking information
Maintain yard management data for shipping equipment, confirming adequate equipment is on site and properly positioned in the yard
Maintain orderly files and shipping records for all outbound shipments; research, pull, and communicate shipping documentation requests
Complete records of shipments, including Bills of Lading
Contact carriers to ensure pickup of shipments
Use the PKMS Warehouse Management System to close loads and update issues
Utilize an Access database to control driver and trailer information
Use Microsoft Outlook to communicate with management, customers' traffic departments, and carriers
Ensure outbound paperwork is complete and accurate; control and apply seals to outbound trailers
Communicate regularly with shipping dock management and the yard switcher; go to the shipping dock as needed to resolve issues or check on shipments
Assist fellow associates and perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Must Haves

High school diploma
1-3 years of experience in shipping/trucking or relevant experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Word, and Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
