Job Description

Westfield Public Schools seeks positive, empathetic and encouraging applicants for the following position for the 2026-2027 school year. Mentor Coordinators are responsible for overseeing the mentoring program in their building or level. Responsibilities:

1. Assist with recruiting new mentors during the summer as new positions open.
2. Overseeing the new teacher orientation in August for their building or level.
3. Prepare/coordinate monthly meetings for new teachers.
4. Attend all scheduled meetings with the District Coordinator for Mentoring.
5. Communicate with building principals regarding the mentor program.
6. Address concerns of mentors or mentees.
7. Communicate with the District Coordinator for Mentoring regarding concerns or problems.
8. Turn in attendance records and agendas of all meeting to the Coordinator at the end of the year.

POSITION SUBJECT TO FUNDING Position Type: Part-time Salary: $772 to $772 Stipend Job Categories: Administration > Director/Coordinator/Manager

Job Requirements

• Qualifications:
  1. Completed/will complete district mentor training.
  2. At least two years of successful mentoring experience in the district.
  3. Earned a rating of at least proficient on most recent educator evaluation.
  4. Recommended by current principal.
  5. Candidate should possess leadership abilities and a desire to enhance the district.
  6. Exhibit knowledge about content-area, the Educator Evaluation System, and professional/community resources in the school and district.
  7. Works well with adults and maintains confidentiality.
