Teaching Artist- Apprentice

Purpose of NDI New Mexico Teaching Artist Apprentice:This role is responsible for learning and delivering the NDI New Mexico In-school curriculum and teaching methodology through our classes in the public schools, helping children and youth develop confidence and character through dance. Training takes place under the supervision of a master instructor in our award-winning curriculum and the core competencies of the NDI New Mexico pedagogy. Instructors are creative partners with a team of teaching artists and musicians to create choreography and lead public school students to success in their culminating performances. The Apprentice is responsible to their Program Artistic Director(s) for carrying out the mission and the policies of the organization.Primary Responsibilities:Teaching and ChoreographyTraining period includes paid apprenticeship learning under the guidance of a master teacher, and participating in training and enrichment workshops to learn the pedagogy and build teaching skills.
