A Fabricator must have knowledge of fabrication and welding processes and will receive the training to establish a clear understanding of the procedures and safe operation of the fabrication equipment in accordance with Liberty standards. A Fabricator is expected to be self-motivated and eager to learn more about a career in fabrication.**Qualifications & Requirements:** * Minimum of 12 months employed in the Liberty Manufacturing Department* Must pass Fabricator I Skills & Competency Assessments* Must have reliable transportation & Valid Driver’s License* Must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude and an understanding of mechanical building techniques* Must be Safety Conscious and expected to wear proper PPE**Indicators & Attributes for Success:*** Desire for continual learning the art of welding and fabrication as well as an apparent aptitude for a career in fabrication.* Strong communication skills with Fabrication Supervisor, Leadership Team, and Fabrication Department Management.* Capable of maintaining a calm and professional attitude even in the most challenging environments.* Ability to efficiently prioritize and switch between tasks while maintaining good organizational skills.* Must be hard working as to keep pace with Liberty Fabrication Department’s rapid shop environment.* Capable of adapting to dynamic work environments.* Must be creative and able to recognize, adapt, and overcome obstacles to ensure the successful completion of a project.* Conscientious of deadlines and the procedures/techniques required to achieve those deadlines.* Demonstrates the ability to take direction and constructive criticism with an eager and open mind.* Takes pride in every single project.* Takes ownership of situations and their actions.* Demonstrates the ability to work individually after instruction is given.* Maintains self-discipline and stay on task without supervision.* Displays the drive to further a career in fabrication/manufacturing through the acquisition of knowledge and tools.* Embraces the Liberty culture and fully understands what it means to be BDFC.* + **B**est **D**amn **F**rac **C**ompany Period.**Primary Responsibilities:*** Part Preparation: Sanding parts that come off the CNC cutting tables.* Accurately executes varying cut lists utilizing shop-cutting equipment such as a bandsaw.* Stocks raw materials as shipments come in.* Practices and maintains acceptable behavior in line with Liberty’s safety regulations, company policies and operating procedures.* Confidently drives a light-duty pickup/vehicle for in-town parts runs.* Willingness to work beyond regular shop hours when the project demands it.* Assists Team Members on varying projects and equipment.* Required to have a basic to moderate set of hand tools and fabrication tools to facilitate the job duty requirements of a Fabricator I.* + \*Refer to Tool Requirements List.* Must have a solid understanding of general welding practices, procedures, and the theories behind it.* Must have general knowledge of proper MIG welding techniques that yield results in-line with Liberty Manufacturing Department’s expectations and aesthetics.* Must learn to read and comprehend designs using a tablet 3D CAD viewer.* + Includes knowing how to access the file/drawing, manipulate the image on-screen, and extract measurements.* Must be capable of safely machining, grinding, torching, cutting, measuring, and fitting parts to within acceptable tolerances.* Other Duties: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position. Expect general shop conditions and working in close proximity to manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to: welders, forklifts, grinders, CNC Waterjet machines, CNC plasma machines, CNC Laser Table, Machining Equipment (Mills & Lathes), hydraulic press break and assorted power tools.
