Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Richmond, VA Position: Maintenance Mechanic Pay: $31.83/hr with potential to increase additional $4.84/hr if you complete Pay-For-Skills. Shift: Primarily 1st shift; must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and rotating call‑ins. This position is located in our Paper plant in Richmond, Virginia. You will report to the Maintenance Excellence Coordinator and will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work area. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include but are not limited to: Knowledge of process equipment used in a Paper Mill. The ability to maintain and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Extensive understanding of rigging. Ability to precisely install couplings, bearings, pumps, rolls, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical equipment using state‑of‑the‑art alignment tools. Strong metal‑working skills including cutting and welding for fabrication. Knowledge of hydraulics and fitting (plus). A strong background in preventative maintenance. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area. Being a team player. Qualifications: Preferred: 2‑year Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field. Alternative: 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Must own your own tools.
