Position Overview The Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a crew of employees that will be doing a wide variety of tasks, including major and minor grading, asphalt patching, raising manholes, mill support, and other general duties. This position will primarily perform supervisory duties, but on rare occasions may assist with general labor and equipment operation tasks as needed. Wage: $24‑$36 per hour, dependent upon experience. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily work activities and job site organization, reading plans, etc. Supervise and schedule work crews. Organize job site goals, timelines, and budgets. Order required supplies and materials. Drive to various job site locations. Assist with general labor duties including shoveling, laying asphalt, installing pipes, crusher maintenance, and other tasks as required. Assist with heavy equipment operation when trained and needed at job sites. Maintain time‑ and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing. May be subject to drug testing, medical exams and physical agility testing. Qualifications Education/Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED). 2 to 5 years of related construction experience or equivalent combination of education and training. Standard driver’s license. Work Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check. Report to the job site dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook. Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Mathematical ability: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, percent, land, draw, and interpret bar graphs. Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions. Work well with others in a group or one‑on‑one setting. Type and use keyboards accurately; knowledge of database software. Customer service: manage difficult or emotional employee situations; respond promptly to employee needs; meet commitments. Teamwork: contribute to building a positive team spirit. Physical Requirements Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment. Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above shoulders. Occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
