Peak Performers is seeking an experienced State Contract Specialist  to support the Texas Space Commission in Austin, Texas. This position will assist with high-level procurement and contract-administration work, including drafting, reviewing, tracking, and managing complex contract documents.

The ideal candidate has strong Texas public-sector contracting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

What you’ll do:

• Draft, review, and process contracts, amendments, solicitations, and related procurement documents

• Support contract administration throughout the contract lifecycle, from development through closeout

• Review deliverables, invoices, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance

• Track contract timelines, renewals, reporting requirements, and performance obligations

• Maintain complete and organized contract files in accordance with applicable records-retention requirements

• Coordinate with program staff, vendors, procurement staff, legal counsel, and other stakeholders

• Research and interpret applicable Texas procurement laws, policies, and contract requirements

• Identify potential contract risks, discrepancies, or compliance concerns and help develop solutions

• Prepare reports, correspondence, and other contract-related documentation as needed

What you’ll bring:

• Experience supporting complex government procurement and contract administration

• Strong knowledge of Texas contracting and purchasing requirements

• Experience preparing and reviewing solicitations, contracts, amendments, and related documentation

• Strong written communication, organization, and attention to detail

• Ability to independently manage multiple deadlines and priorities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

• CTCD or CTPM certification; can be expired, not to exceed (one) 1 year.

• Rate: $62/hr   
• Worksite Location: Austin, TX 78701 
  • Onsite - onsite interview also! 
• Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, excluding state holidays 
• Contract Length: 6 months with possible extension
