Strategic Sourcing Analyst

Our client needs a junior Strategic Sourcing Analyst (Buyer) who will lead the data management and quantitative analyses of sourcing activities. The Analyst leads the construction of sourcing tools and processes as well as information validation for commodities and products. The Analyst must be fully informed of the strategic sourcing process as they will be required to work on complex problems requiring the creation of analytical tools, data analysis and recommendations/solutions to problems.

You will work at the direction of the Director of Sourcing and Senior Analysts. This is not a demand planning position. What you will be doing:

· Research and analyze the commodities you are assigned to purchase, bring the data in-house for more senior analysts to help you process purchasing decisions

· Develop key performance metrics for various areas of the supply chain as requested and adjust KPI metrics as process improvements are realized.

· Create business flow process diagrams

· Compile and report findings to senior team members

What they are looking for

·2+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing and commodity management for manufacturing and a willingness to learn

· Working Knowledge of master supplier agreements and cost breakdown methodologies.

· Knowledge of ERP system (SAP preferred) and reporting tools

· Good analytical, communication and negotiation skills

· BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

· Open to 20% to 30% travel

· Exposure to commodities such as castings, metal fabrication, hydraulics, drivetrains, engines, or plastics.

· APICS Certification would be a plus
