Internal Posting: Surgery SchedulerLocation: NorthwestPosition Type: Full TimeExperience: 2 years' experienceEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Full time surgery scheduler.Management of insurance authorizations & appealsAnticipates the needs of the clinicAbility to communicate well with patients, peers, surgeons, and surgical partnersCandidate must have ability to manage a changing schedule and work with those involvedContact insurance companies for authorization for surgerySchedule surgeries and send appropriate paperwork to the patientUpdate patient demographics to include verification of insuranceDirect patients to labs and obtain medical clearanceAnswer patient related questionsCoordinate emergency surgical situationsScan all patient related documents after charges are completedQualifications/Experience:Strong experience with surgical procedures and pre-authorizing procedures2+ years of experience as a surgical schedulerExperience with EMR is required.Microsoft Office experienceExceptionally organized, great communication skills and strong attention to detailClinical Orthopedic and/or Surgery experience is requiredStrong Coding knowledgeHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum two years' experience in a surgeon's office
