As part of Marmon Rail, a Berkshire Hathaway company, we operate a growing network of facilities and field service teams across North America, supporting customers in transportation, energy, and manufacturing.What You'll Do Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologiesDrive implementation of tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and PDCAAnalyze operational data to identify waste, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunitiesPartner with plant leadership and frontline employees to implement process improvementsDevelop and maintain visual management systems and standard workSupport development of efficient material flow and production processes (PFEP, cell design)Conduct shop floor observations across shifts to assess performance and identify gapsFacilitate problem‑solving through root cause analysis and structured improvement plansTrain and coach employees on continuous improvement tools and principlesTrack and report progress against performance metrics and savings targetsWhat Makes This Role Different High Impact Role – Direct influence on plant performance and operational resultsDevelopment Opportunity – Designed as a growth role over two years into broader leadershipCross‑Functional Exposure – Work across all levels of the organizationHands‑On Improvement – Blend of shop floor engagement and strategic problem‑solvingWhat We're Looking For We're seeking a driven, collaborative individual with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement.Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required3+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial environmentsExperience with Lean methodologies and continuous improvement toolsStrong communication and ability to influence across all levels of the organizationAnalytical mindset with strong organizational and time‑management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related fieldExperience implementing Lean systems (Kanban, PFEP, visual management)Background in cross‑functional collaboration and project‑based workExposure to plant leadership interactions and operational strategyWork Environment Significant time spent on the shop floor in an industrial environmentExposure to equipment, noise, and varying weather conditionsPhysical activity including walking, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety standardsSite Specific Details Location: Miles City, MontanaShift: Primarily First Shift, 6:00am – 4:30pm Monday – FridayBase Salary: $85,000 – $90,000Compensation & Benefits: We know this role requires skill, flexibility, and commitment, and we compensate accordingly.What you can expect: Competitive base salary, stable long‑term career within a growing organization, full benefits starting day one (medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, company‑paid life and disability insurance, paid time off and holidays, employee assistance program), and career growth opportunities across Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway companies.Why Transco?
