• Job Title: Payroll Specialist
• Location: Brooklyn, NY 11212
• Vacancy Type: FTC – 3 months with possibility of extension.
• Schedule: M-F - 9 Am – 5 Pm
• Pay Rate: $21- $29 per hour without benefits, depending on experience.

Position Overview:
The Internal Auditor & Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing comprehensive financial, operational, and clinical compliance audits across hospital departments. This position bridges the gap between rigorous data verification and transactional execution—ensuring strict adherence to hospital policies and government regulations through diligent audit testing, accurate biweekly payroll administration, and active communication with departmental leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diverse operational, clinical, billing, and accounts payable/receivable audits to confirm compliance with internal policies and standards.
• Review, oversee, and process accurate biweekly payroll entries for hourly and salaried employees by managing KRONOS/UKG timecards with department timekeepers.
• Reconcile after-payroll reports and process employee tax withholding forms, voluntary deductions, direct deposits, garnishments, child support, and tax levies.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to maintain payroll system rules and architectures (Infor/Lawson, KRONOS, UKG).
• Answer employee inquiries and guide operational groups to ensure institutional procedures and policies are clearly understood.

Qualifications:

• Minimum two (2) years of dedicated audit experience (Required).
• Hands-on knowledge of payroll flows, structures, and automated timekeeping tools (Required).
• Experience working with UKG, KRONOS (Required)
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related business field (Preferred).
• Familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) / union payroll structures, or Infor/Lawson systems (Preferred).
