A Day in the Life of a Field Property Adjuster As a Field Property Adjuster, you will be dedicated to providing exceptional service to our policyholders. Your primary responsibilities include traveling to customers’ homes to conduct on‑site inspections, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling claims promptly and efficiently. You will also handle virtual claims nationwide using platforms such as Xactimate and claims video collaboration. Your focus will be on water losses, ensuring a high level of support and resolution for these specific claims. Key Skills and Hats Customer Service Expert – you embody Allstate’s claims culture by caring, empowering, and restoring, always leading with empathy. Investigator – you confidently and independently investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage. Effective Communicator – you use phone, email, and video chat with customers to help them through a fast, fair, and easy claims process. Negotiator – you evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third‑party carriers, and claimants. Problem Solver – you utilize multiple tools to finish work in a fast‑paced environment while applying strong critical‑thinking skills. Recorder – you protect the company financially by executing policies, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in the claims system. Preferred Qualifications Residence in Chicago city limits or within Cook County. 2‑3 years of experience as an outside adjuster. Proficiency in using Xactimate and other estimating software. Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages accurately. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel to customers’ homes and handle virtual claims nationwide. Detail‑oriented and organized. Residency within the posted location is mandatory for this role. Required Qualifications Willing and able to carry a 50‑pound ladder and access roofs up to a 6/12 pitch. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
