Job Summary: Our growing company is seeking an enthusiastic Human Resources professional who is eager to grow with our organization. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Human Resources function by assisting employees with internal and external requests and HR-related procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring and managing recruitment and hiring processes, coordinating applicant drug screenings, reference checks, and background checks. The HR Generalist will maintain applicant tracking and flow, conduct new hire orientations, create and maintain personnel and new hire files, and enter employee data into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This position is responsible for monitoring all hiring and recruitment activities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, as well as company policies and standards. Additional responsibilities include ensuring the accurate maintenance of employee records and documentation, including interview materials and Form I-9 records. The HR Generalist will participate on project teams and provide training to new hires on Human Resources processes, programs, policies, information systems, benefits, and general company information. Major Duties: Provide top notch HR customer service! Act as the primary contact for staffing agencies, maintaining regular communication and fostering strong working relationships. Perform all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, employee development, retention, and offboarding. Respond promptly to phone, email, in-person, and online inquiries regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices. Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel and employment records, both physical and electronic. Ensure the timely completion of annual performance reviews by tracking review schedules and sending reminders to managers. Coordinate employee feedback initiatives, including surveys and suggestion programs; analyze feedback, communicate outcomes, and support continuous improvement efforts. Partner with the Quality department to ensure employee training records are accurate, complete, and up to date. Administer employee benefit programs, including resolving issues, processing changes, responding to employee inquiries, and communicating benefit-related information. Provide basic guidance and support to employees regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, and best practices. Attend local job fairs and develop partnerships with local schools, technical colleges, and apprenticeship programs. Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of HR transactions, communications, and employee interactions. Audit training assignments, assign required training, and send reminders to ensure timely completion. Assist with the development and implementation of programs designed to promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Participate in company-wide meetings, employee engagement initiatives, and organizational events. Spend regular time in the manufacturing environment building relationships with employees, supporting engagement initiatives, and serving as an accessible resource. Strong empathy and interpersonal skills. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study - preferred Three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience – required Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) -preferred. Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration - required Previous experience with HR and Payroll systems or related HRIS - required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - required Ability to analyze, interpret and explain various human resources topics - required Ability to establish credibility and rapport with employees, leadership, and other internal or external stakeholders and departments Excellent verbal and written skills; maintaining clarity, professionalism, and conciseness individually Ability to anticipate, solve and resolve problems in best practices manner Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality or service with a mindfulness to detail Ability to meet deadlines and goals under strict or tight timelines Maintain the upmost in confidentiality Preferred Software Knowledge: Familiar with Working with Professional Employment Organization (PEO) – Preferred Familiar with Human Resource Information systems Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite - Required Familiar with VOIP phone systems – Preferred Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk (often) Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
