Let us break down the important details!Pay: STARTING @ $28.00 per hour + Shift Differential **(WE PAY FOR EXPERIENCE!)**Hours: 9PM - 7AMDays: Mon - Thurs**What is the job**: As a Maintenance Technician with Avient, you are responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and/or maintain all equipment in good operating condition as quickly and accurately as possible; while keeping associated costs to a minimum to help meet Plant goals. Dismantles and examines devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Adjusts, repairs or replaces defective parts.• Sets up and operates shop machinery such as lathe, drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder. etc. Uses hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment.• Installs new or repairs/modifies hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.• Completes projects with minimal guidance showing a proactive attitude to minimizing equipment down time and lost production capability.• Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment. Takes a proactive approach to equipment issues with a preventive maintenance mentality.• Operates forklift and hydraulic working platform as needed.• Researches supplies, parts and tools needed to complete work orders.• Assists in identifying and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.• Contributes to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, PM logs, etc.## Qualifications**Qualifications**• High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED)• Technical School degree or equivalent experience• Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals• Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must have the ability to use conversions, work with different units such asweight, volume, density, distance, etc.**Physical Demands**• Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listening• Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs• May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds• Ability to frequently communicate and understand work instructions and information in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where noise level is loud• Must be able to detect and discern safety alarms and respond accordingly• Generally requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection• Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine• May be exposed to working in extreme heat and humidity• May also be exposed on occasion to dust or fumesFinal compensation within this range may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
