Teacher - Grade 3

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Locust Grove Elementary as a Grade 3 Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and academic growth. This full‑time position requires a passion for teaching, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and parents to enhance the educational experience. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students. Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and a love of learning. Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations, and provide constructive feedback. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and any concerns. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices. Manage classroom behavior effectively and implement strategies to address challenges. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Support the social and emotional development of students and address individual needs. Engage in school activities and events to foster community involvement and support school culture. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification for Grade 3 or the ability to obtain certification. Previous teaching experience, preferably in an elementary school setting. Strong understanding of child development and instructional strategies for diverse learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with parents and the community. Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
