RT Technician with CR/DR - McPherson, KS

Job Details Job Location: McPherson, KS 67460 Position: RT Level II Technician (RT/CR/DR). Preferred – Pay: Per Diem The NDE Technician will be performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and will record results. Level II Technicians are qualified to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications, and are thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods used. They also exercise responsibility for on‑the‑job training and guidance of Assistants and Level I Technicians. Responsibilities Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment. Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection. Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results. Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators. Organize and report test results. Perform specialized inspections. May instruct and supervise others. Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned by management. Education & Experience NDT Level II RT with on‑the‑job training and state card. NDT Level II MT, PT, UTT preferred. Technical background in NDT methods and procedures. High School Diploma or equivalent. Complete and pass a DISA background check. Complete and pass all required drug screens. Complete and pass site‑specific safety council requirements. Must test out in all required methods with XCEL. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret inspection results. Knowledge of NDT equipment. Desired Competencies Strong work ethic. Work Conditions / Physical Requirements Move, carry and lift objects in excess of 50 pounds. Climb and perform work from ladders, stairs and scaffolding in excess of 100 feet, continuously throughout shift. Be able to climb ladders and platforms up to 250 feet with a harness and lanyard. Be able to step up into vehicles or onto equipment. Work extended hours and stand for extended periods of time. Work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold.
