About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Progressive Care RN – North Carolina**Start Date:** August 3, 2026 **Location:** Asheville, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Rotating shifts; Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule period; No call; 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio; Day shift includes charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs; Night shift includes charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs**Highlights:** - 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care unit specializing in CV surgery and vascular surgery patients- Manage complex post-operative cases including open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery, esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass- Telemetry monitoring with overflow medical cardiology patients including heart failure, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block- EMR system: Cerner; Equipment includes Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts- Hands-on experience with cardiac drip management, epidurals, chest tubes, tube feedings, and IV glucommander- Floating to stepdown or medical-surgical units as needed; Fast-paced, team-oriented environment**Requirements:** - Active North Carolina RN license or compact state license- Minimum 1-2 years stepdown experience required- Telemetry experience required- ACLS and BLS certification required- Prior cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery experience strongly preferred- CVICU experience preferred- Team player with flexibility and ability to thrive in fast-paced settings**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This role offers the chance to work with a comprehensive cardiovascular patient population in a supportive, team-driven environment.
