Maintenance Technician

Job TitleJob TitleJob DescriptionParticipate on all phases of cell rebuilds/repairs. Work adjusted schedule as necessary to minimize downtimeProvide preventive/predictive maintenance support for all plant equipment.Replace scrubber filter pads and flexi rings when necessaryRespond to emergency work orders to service, troubleshoot and repair all facility equipment.Responsible for maintaining a high standard of workmanship & housekeeping.Participate in continuous improvement teams, assume responsibilities for various team roles as neededUsing relevant information & individual judgement to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standardsClean lead sulfate from cells during a cell rebuild project and manage as hazardous wasteChange all filter cartridges and properly dispose of cartridges (hazardous waste and non-hazardous)Properly store and label universal wasteWash contaminated process equipmentAdjust breaks/lunches etc. as necessary to complete jobs and return equipment to operating statusMaintain & follow all proper safety practices & proceduresFollow all hazardous waste handling procedures as set forth in procedures manualOther duties as requiredRequisite Skills, Experience and EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent2 years industrial maintenance experience, or, in an industrial maintenance related technical fieldValid Driver's LicensePrevious maintenance or mechanical experience in piping repair, mechanical drive systems, welding, fabrication, large equipment maintenance, chemical operation maintenance, and machining and precision close tolerance work requiredCandidate must possess excellent communication and teamwork skillsMust be a self-starter & work efficiently with minimal supervisionCandidate must have a positive attitude, and be flexible to handle new situations & assignmentsCandidate must demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a desire to support Maintenance Department goals outside of normal activitiesPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
