Quality Control Technician
At Bulldog, we don't just replace roofs - we protect homes, businesses, and the families who depend on them. For decades, we've built our reputation on quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and doing the right thing.
Our mission is simple: To provide lasting quality for the families and businesses we serve while creating opportunity for the teams we build.
We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Control Technician who takes pride in workmanship and wants to help ensure every Bulldog Roofing project is completed to our standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, working with crews, and making sure customers receive the quality they were promised.
Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting completed and in-progress roofing and exterior projects, documenting workmanship, identifying deficiencies, and coordinating timely corrections before final project closeout.
This position works closely with Production Managers, field crews, Account Managers, and customers to protect quality, reduce callbacks, improve jobsite cleanliness, and ensure Bulldog Roofing standards are consistently met across the market.
What You'll Do
- Perform final quality-control inspections on completed roofing and exterior projects.
- Inspect workmanship, flashing, ventilation, penetrations, accessories, gutters, siding, and other project-specific details for completeness and quality.
- Compare completed work to the approved scope, manufacturer requirements, company standards, and applicable building-code expectations.
- Create clear punch lists when deficiencies are identified and communicate required corrections to the Production team.
- Document inspections with detailed notes and photos in the company CRM and required field systems.
- Verify jobsite cleanup, magnet sweeps, material removal, and overall property condition before closeout.
- Complete minor field corrections or small punch-list items when safe and appropriate to keep projects moving.
- Coordinate return visits with Production Managers and crews when additional corrective work is required.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners when accessing properties or explaining quality-control follow-up.
- Identify recurring workmanship issues and provide feedback to Production leadership to improve crew performance and training.
- Assist with warranty inspections and service-related field visits as needed.
- Maintain company tools, ladders, safety equipment, and assigned vehicle/equipment in good working condition.
What Success Looks Like
- Projects are inspected promptly and accurately before final closeout.
- Punch-list items are documented clearly and resolved quickly.
- Callbacks and preventable warranty issues decline over time.
- CRM notes, photos, and inspection records are complete and accurate.
- Customers experience a professional, responsive final stage of the project.
- Production teams receive useful feedback that improves workmanship and consistency.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
- Comfort working on ladders and roofs and around active construction sites.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify workmanship issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic smartphone, photo documentation, and computer/CRM proficiency.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage a daily route of jobsite inspections.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred
- Roofing, construction, home improvement, inspection, service, or field technician experience.
- Knowledge of residential roofing systems, flashing details, ventilation, gutters, siding, or exterior construction.
- Experience with AccuLynx, ServiceTitan, or similar construction CRM software.
- OSHA or other construction safety training.
Physical Requirements
- Climb extension ladders and access residential and commercial roofs when conditions permit.
- Walk roofs, yards, and uneven terrain while maintaining safe work practices.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and use hand tools.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including ladders and jobsite materials.
- Work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and other normal seasonal conditions.
- Operate a motor vehicle throughout the workday.
- Use a smartphone, tablet, camera, ladder, measuring tools, and basic hand tools in the field.
Support We Offer
- Competitive compensation based on experience and performance.
- Comprehensive onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching.
- Career advancement opportunities within a growing organization.
- Daily support from experienced production, operations, sales, and customer service teams.
- A culture built on integrity, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
