Job Details Location: OAK - Hayward, CA 94545 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: None Salary Range: $30.00 - $33.50 Hourly Travel Percentage: Road Warrior Job Summary Our Class A Drivers support the operations department by completing pick‑ups and deliveries of freight in a timely and professional manner. Drivers maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records such as Vehicle Inspection Reports, daily manifests, and incident reports. They may also be responsible for loading and unloading freight and for reporting accurate dimensions and weight. California Sierra Express has served the air freight logistics industry for over 35 years. We operate six freight terminals in CA and one in Reno, NV. As an overnight carrier, we serve international and domestic freight forwarders as a final‑mile pick‑up and delivery agent for shipments worldwide. You’ll join a local team of over 60 people committed to delivering the best service to customers who trust Cal Sierra to move shipments on‑time throughout the greater Bay Area. Additional weekend work is available, if desired. Complete assigned route in a timely manner. Route size can vary day to day and may require 10‑12 hours to complete. Practice defensive driving principles and follow all company safety policies. Comply with all laws and regulations related to driving, transporting and handling freight, including FMCSA and DOT regulations. Comply with truck and trailer security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA). Comply with safe work practices required by OSHA. Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Must be at least 23 years of age. Minimum of two (2) years commercial driving experience. Clean DMV record (no serious moving violations in the past 5 years). Valid DOT Medical Examination Card. Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and TSA background check. Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations. Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification, preferred. Experience driving in adverse weather conditions, mountains, and chaining installation.
