Civil Construction Estimator – New Hyde Park, NYSalary: $100,000–$150,000 | Full-Time | Hybrid FlexibilityA well?established civil construction firm in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking an experienced Estimator to support bidding, budgeting, and cost analysis for a wide range of civil and site development projects. This role requires strong technical estimating skills, the ability to work independently, and comfort collaborating with project teams and field personnel.The position offers hybrid flexibility—the estimator may work primarily from home but must be able to visit the office and job sites as needed.Role OverviewThe Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project documents, coordinating with subcontractors, and supporting the leadership team in developing competitive bids. This is a high?impact role that requires accuracy, strong communication, and deep knowledge of civil construction practices.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for civil, sitework, excavation, utilities, concrete, paving, and related scopesReview drawings, specifications, addenda, and project documents to determine scope and requirementsPerform quantity takeoffs and develop cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractorsSolicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricingDevelop bid proposals, budgets, and cost models for both public and private projectsAnalyze project risks, schedule impacts, and constructability considerationsCollaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and leadership during preconstructionParticipate in job site visits to assess conditions and validate assumptionsMaintain historical cost data and support continuous improvement of estimating processesRequired Experience & SkillsCivil construction estimating experience is required (site development, utilities, excavation, heavy civil, or related)Strong ability to read and interpret civil drawings, plans, and specificationsProficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff toolsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneouslyStrong communication and negotiation skillsAbility to visit job sites and the office as neededHigh level of professionalism, reliability, and integrityCompensation & Work StructureSalary: $100,000–$150,000, depending on experienceFull-time positionHybrid schedule available after onboarding, with periodic office and site visits requiredComprehensive benefits packageCompensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $100,000.00 - $150,000.00Job SummaryJob number: 575450Profession: Other
