The Shipping and Receiving Associate manages incoming and outgoing materials, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports daily warehouse operations. This role involves handling shipments, operating a sit-down forklift, stocking products, and entering data into the materials system to ensure efficient and accurate order processing.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and descriptions against shipping documents.
• Process outgoing shipments using carriers such as UPS and FedEx, ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
• Stock products on shelves in an organized and efficient manner to support easy access and inventory control.
• Assist with unloading delivery trucks, typically about one truck per day, using appropriate equipment and safe handling practices.
• Input materials and shipment details into the materials control (MC) or inventory system with a high level of accuracy.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by updating records promptly and reporting discrepancies or damaged goods.
• Operate a sit-down forklift safely to move, load, and unload materials within the facility.
• Follow established shipping, receiving, and inventory procedures to support smooth warehouse operations.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and meet daily shipping and receiving deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in accordance with workplace safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of shipping experience, ideally with UPS or FedEx.
• Proficiency in using computers to input and manage materials and shipping information.
• Experience with inventory, shipping, and receiving processes in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate data entry and shipment verification.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as unloading trucks and stocking shelves.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and support daily operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clearwater, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
