Audiology Technician

Job Summary Position: Audiology Technician – Hearing Aid Lab Location: Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center, Nashville, TN (Medical Center East – South Tower, 9th Floor) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1‑hour lunch). Working closely with audiologists, speech‑language pathologists, and lab technicians to support patient care, device management, and administrative coordination. Responsibilities Provide hands‑on support to patients using hearing aids, assistive listening devices, and Bluetooth connectivity. Assist with same‑day clinic visits, ensuring efficient and high‑quality patient care. Manage inventory, order, ship, and track hearing devices and supplies. Coordinate with audiologists and lab staff to ensure clinic readiness. Maintain accurate records in electronic systems (e.g., TIMS). Travel to satellite clinics as needed to support patient care delivery. Assist and counsel same‑day clinic patients independently with hearing aid repairs, supplies, earmold pick‑up, and accessory Bluetooth pairing. Document and bill for patient care services; complete billing records accurately. Schedule same‑day clinic patients for hearing aid cleanings, supplies, repairs, and earmold pick‑up. Respond promptly to patient messages, calls, and provider clinical messages. Complete quality checks of invoices based on negotiated prices and purchase order numbers. Ship items back to manufacturers for repairs, remakes, or refunds via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Order hearing aids, accessories, and earmolds per tracking aids or custom hearing aid forms. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Audiology, Speech‑Language Pathology, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of customer service or patient‑facing experience. Experience working with pediatric or special needs populations preferred. Strong communication, organization, and multi‑tasking skills. Detail‑oriented with a positive, team‑first attitude. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Proficiency with electronic medical record or inventory systems is a plus. Willingness to travel to satellite clinics as required.
