About the Position

Job Description

Cheshire Medical Center is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join its Operating Room team. The CST will primarily work in a scrubbing capacity as part of the surgical team and may assist with circulating duties when needed.

The Surgical Department performs a wide range of procedures, including general, orthopedic, total joint, neurological, endocrine, breast, oncology, gastrointestinal, colorectal, and hepatobiliary surgeries , including both open and laparoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Scrub for a variety of surgical cases and provide appropriate instruments and supplies.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Assist with OR preparation and maintain a safe, organized, and quiet surgical environment.
• Prepare, handle, and maintain specialized surgical equipment and supplies.
• Assist with circulating duties when required.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other members of the surgical team.
• Adapt quickly and effectively to stressful or changing surgical situations.

Requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of current CST experience
• NBSTSA certification – Required
• High proficiency in:
  • Orthopedic procedures
  • Total joint procedures
  • Neurological procedures
• Scrubbing experience in General, Orthopedic, Neurological, and Endoscopic procedures
• AHA BLS – Required
• Current New Hampshire Medical Technician Registration required; may be pending upon offer
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have reliable transportation/own vehicle
• Travelers must be willing to take call
