Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 + Benefits



Location: Downtown San Diego, CA



Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

A respected downtown San Diego law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support its growing litigation practice. The firm represents employers and businesses in a variety of matters, including employment law, commercial litigation, and transactional work. This role is ideal for a seasoned legal professional who is comfortable handling both substantive paralegal responsibilities and legal assistant functions in a fast-paced, defense-side environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and serve pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
• Manage state and federal court filings, including electronic filing through OneLegal and other court filing platforms
• Maintain attorney calendars, monitor deadlines, and coordinate scheduling
• Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents using Microsoft Word
• Assist attorneys with case management throughout all phases of litigation
• Organize case files, discovery materials, and litigation documents
• Provide backup legal assistant and administrative support as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 5 years of litigation experience
• Strong e-filing experience in California state and federal courts
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word
• Experience preparing pleadings, discovery, and litigation calendaring
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred

• Paralegal Certificate
• Experience performing both paralegal and legal assistant duties
• Employment law and/or defense-side litigation experience
