About the role

• The Arkansas Baptist Ranch, a ministry of the Arkansas Baptist Children and Family Ministries (ABCFM), is a 400-acre working ranch (cattle and horses) near Harrison, Arkansas. The Ranch provides a place of residence for several large sibling group foster families, while also hosting a thriving Christian marriage and retreat ministry and a weekly men's vocation and discipleship program.

The Building and Grounds technician will support the mission of the Ranch and ABCFM by assisting the Ranch Maintenance Manager and staff in care and upkeep of lawns, landscaped areas, buildings, and ranch property. This part-time position requires 16-24 hours of work per week (2-3 days per week), and is not eligible for employment benefits such as insurance, PTO, and retirement.


What you'll do

• Grounds Maintenance
• Mow lawn areas with a zero turn mower.

• Weedeating, edging, and cleaning paved areas.

• Pest spraying.

• Weed, mulch, replant planting beds.

• Fence repair.

Building Maintenance/Upkeep

• Painting.

• Replacing HVAC filters.

• Plumbing fixture and light fixture maintenance.

• Home repair (carpentry, drywall, windows/doors, roofs, trim)

Other Duties

• Feed and care for livestock/horses.

• Assist retreat guests and residents as requested.

• Light vehicle maintenance.

• Assist with special events and activities for residents and guests.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience in key job areas and a willingness to learn new skills.

• Respect for others and effective people skills such as communication.

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and in physically demanding environments.

• Alignment with the mission, values, and Christian commitments of ABCFM.

Supervision

• Works under the supervision of the Ranch Maintenance Manager and reports to the Ranch Director of Operations.

• Compensation $15 per hour; works 2-3 days per week. No benefits.

The pay range for this role is:

15 - 15 USD per hour (Arkansas Baptist Ranch)
