Description: Conducts oneself in a courteous manner with visitors and employees. Identifies self, if requested, by name clearly and concisely. Responds to inquiries politely and promptly. Refers matters outside the scope of duties to appropriate others as necessary, keeping visitors informed as needed. Picks orders and loads skids or hand trucks with merchandise for delivery to departments. Delivers shipments to appropriate departments according to schedule while obtaining appropriate signatures as required. Rotates stock appropriately while checking product expiration dates. Verifies delivery tickets against supplies received and notifies the supervisor of any discrepancies. Receives items or merchandise from departments or vendors and examines packages for discrepancies, notifying the supervisor if concealed damage or other irregularities exist. Indicates discrepancies on purchase orders, receiving reports, and packing slips in accordance with established procedures. Returns items to sender if unable to identify for proper delivery. Instructs departments regarding proper procedures to prevent breakage or damage when needed. Inspects and repacks when necessary and prepares necessary labels, packing slips, and signatures as required. Organizes and follows through on departmental returns, ensuring credit paperwork is filled out correctly and items are sent back to the warehouse timely, making sure items are not expired or damaged. Operates hydraulic lift to move, stack, or store skids of case goods. Operates cardboard baler. Assists in periodic cycle inventory counts to monitor the flow of materials through the department. Utilizes computer systems and hand-held devices to input or retrieve information when needed. May be required to work at any assigned location as necessary. Makes outside deliveries when necessary, driving in accordance with state and local rules and regulations while ensuring that all safety regulations are met. Performs various housekeeping duties, such as sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning shelves, shifting stock, and removing empty cartons. Complies with safety standards. Answers phones in the absence of office personnel. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
