Manufacturing Associate

Abram Scientific is a startup company, located in Menlo Park, CA that is dedicated to creating fast hemostasis information for point-of-care use, to improve patient outcomes in surgical, emergency rooms or trauma centers. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Associate position. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily activities to support the R&D Department. Responsibilities include, conducting verification testing, assembling product disposable test units, maintaining equipment in a cGMP lab environment, producing documentation such as test plans, procedures and reports. Candidates applying to this position must keep in mind that all work is on-site in Menlo Park, CA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assembly of product disposable test units Maintenance of equipment in a cGMP lab environment, producing documentation such as test plans, procedures and reports. Formulate and assemble reagent based biosensor disposables to support internal product testing and external pilot studies. Implement lab upgrades and conduct general day to day upkeep. Ensure that safe lab practices are employed and good laboratory practices are maintained. Provide preliminary interpretation of results and present appropriate conclusions in a clear and concise format. Conduct verification testing on a variety of mechanical, chemical and electronic components in accordance with written and/or verbal instructions from Senior Team members. Design and construct test fixtures and setups associated with design verification activities. Diagnose product problems using a methodical approach and clearly communicate findings to team members. Maintain complex test equipment, including scheduling necessary calibration and preventative maintenance. Provide regular status reports on assigned tasks. Qualifications and Experience Full-Time: Minimum Associates degree in engineering, math, related field of science, or equivalent combination of education and experience or Co-Op: Enrolled in an engineering bachelors degree program with a school-supported engineering co-op program. Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering or life sciences lab & product development environment or academic lab. Have the desire to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment. Working knowledge of electromechanical components. Hands-on skills using test equipment and reagent formulation practices. Ability to make sound technical decisions and complete tasks with limited supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Experienced with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other office productivity software. This position will involve repetitive work utilizing a computer, keyboard, and mouse 70% of the time. The position will require occasional lifting of objects up to 60lbs with assistance. Job Requirements This position will involve repetitive work utilizing laboratory equipment, following assembly and test protocols, product testing and data entry 70% of the time. The position will require frequent sitting, reaching, reading, looking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, turning, twisting.
