Job Details Level: Entry Location: East Hartford, CT 06108 Position Type: Seasonal Education Level: High School Salary Range: $16.94 – $19.35 hourly Shift: Day Job Category: Customer Service Position Title Intake/Certification Specialist Department Energy FLSA Status Non-Exempt Pay Grade 4 Reports To Assistant Program Manager Energy Services General Description The purpose of this position is to support the Agency’s needs by scheduling customer appointments, conducting customer intake and performing tasks necessary to ascertain customer eligibility per program guidelines. Based on CRT’s Steps to Success service delivery model, the Intake/Certification Specialist also provides customers with application assistance and referrals to agency and community resources. Responsibilities Respond to all emergency cases within 24 hours of customer inquiry. Respond to all non-emergency customer inquiries as stipulated in program guidelines. Schedule and reschedule customer intake appointments as needed. Provide quality customer service. Conduct customer intake and review applications and documentation for accuracy and completeness to ensure service eligibility as outlined in program rules and regulations. Maintain orderly customer paper files in accordance with program requirements. Use available technology to maintain accurate computer-based files in accordance with agency and program requirements. Refer customers to internal and external resources to support comprehensive attention to customer need. Process energy applications using DSS procedural instructions. Process energy applications per CRT’s Quality Assurance procedures. Prepare program reports in accordance with program requirements and agency need. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with persons of varying racial/ethnic and socio-economic cultures. Attend courses, professional workshops/training, seminars, or participate in self-directed study for continuous professional growth related to this position. Obtain and maintain valid certifications to sharpen job skills. Perform outreach services, participate in community events, or conduct community education sessions. Maintain a daily activity log. Respond to supervisor, upper management, and program funder requests for information as requested. Travel may be required within the state. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Training and Experience Associate’s Degree in human services or related field preferred; high school diploma and work experience may substitute for a college degree. Ability to manage time in a fast-paced environment and accomplish duties under minimal supervision. Experience with non-profit or community volunteering. Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). Preferred driving experience; no employee vehicle required; agency vehicle not preferred. ADA Compliance Physical Ability: Tasks involve very moderate physical effort in light work, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting 12-20 pounds. Sensory Requirements: Visual perception, discrimination, and oral communication.
