Sales & Lead Development Specialist

About PF&TCO Preferred Floor & Tile CO. (PF&TCO) is a family‑owned flooring company headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with nine regional offices across seven states. We deliver world‑class service and flooring solutions to National and Regional Home Builders, Single Family Rental (SFR) and Multi‑Family Property Management clients. Our goal is to make flooring stress‑free and fun while building lasting relationships with our customers. Position Summary The Sales & Lead Development Specialist drives lead generation and customer engagement strategies within retail locations to support the company’s sales growth. The role identifies and engages potential customers in‑store, assesses customer needs, and schedules in‑home consultations for flooring or tile installation services. The Specialist also manages follow‑up communication, evaluates lead quality, prioritizes outreach, and strives to meet performance targets that drive business growth. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Develop and execute in‑store engagement strategies to convert potential customers into qualified leads for in‑home consultations. Evaluate customer needs and project scope to recommend appropriate services and installation opportunities. Partner with the retail team to enhance customer service. Coordinate and schedule in‑home estimates and installation appointments. Attend in‑home consultations, complete measurements, and review scope of work with the customer. Educate customers on product offerings, pricing, and solutions to support informed purchasing decisions. Stay informed about flooring and tile options, installation processes, and promotions. Build and maintain strong customer relationships that support brand reputation and repeat business. Maintain accurate records of interactions and appointments within the company’s CRM system. Collaborate with leadership to provide insights on customer needs, lead trends, and opportunities for improved conversion. Meet or exceed monthly targets for lead volume and appointment‑to‑sale conversion rates. Show flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to meet customer and business demands. Prioritize outreach and in‑store engagement to maximize lead generation effectiveness. Occupy any additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED required. 2–3 years of related lead generation, retail floor sales, or customer service preferred; education and experience may be combined. Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and write clear instructions and documents; proofreads work. Lead Engagement: Comfortable initiating conversations with both warm and cold leads, maintaining professionalism and persistence. Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic and perform calculations for measurements. Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills, strong listening, and persuasive presentation in English. Marketing Automation & CRM: Experience managing and analyzing lead data. Computer Proficiency: Comfortable using workstations, peripheral equipment, database, spreadsheet, email, and word processing software. Team Collaboration: Works effectively with cross‑functional teams. Vision: Ability to view documents, multiple screens, and handwritten notes accurately. Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to commute to customer locations. Competencies Communication: Speak clearly, write concise professional messages, and follow up as needed. Written Communication: Write clearly; read and interpret written information accurately. Sales Orientation: Engage customers to generate interest, schedule appointments, and exceed lead targets. Team Collaboration: Work well with store associates and sales teams, share information, and support team goals. Diversity: Promote a harassment‑free environment. Ethical Behavior: Act with honesty, integrity, protect customer information, and support company policies. Customer Focus: Express genuine interest in helping customers and connecting them to suitable services. Organizational Support: Support organization values, code of ethics, and goals. Organization & Follow‑up: Track appointments and tasks reliably, following through on leads and sales reps timely. Time Management: Schedule and complete tasks to support business functions and meet deadlines. Professionalism: Handle conflict constructively, treat others with respect, and accept responsibility for own actions. Confidentiality & Integrity: Manage sensitive information with professionalism while maintaining high integrity. Quality: Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness through monitoring own work. Quantity: Meet productivity standards and complete work efficiently and on time.
