Pipeline Bilingual Spanish/ English Branch Manager - Northern VA Branches

Job Summary We are seeking a leader with proven branch banking management experience. Candidates must have a strong background in business development, community involvement, and be fluent in both English and Spanish. Overview Manages all activities of a branch. Is responsible for the overall success of the branch operating model, including customer and employee experience, digital engagement, transactions/operations, servicing, and sales. Holds personal production responsibility. Primary Responsibilities Direct sales and business development, meet operational objectives, and ensure branch achieves annual goals. Lead the team through coaching, performance management, and setting priorities. Build and develop branch staff. Identify Retail and Business Banking customer needs through the M&T sales processes, using tools and resources to assist customers with short‑and long‑term solutions. Prospect and grow Business Banking relationships through outreach. Build the bank’s presence in the community. Conduct interviews and select employees based on staffing model. Actively model and coach customer service and needs‑determination behaviors. Reinforce and maintain accountability for execution of Retail strategy. Ensure operational and regulatory requirements are met, including consumer and business banking guidelines. Ensure compliance with operational, security and control policies/procedures, preventing fraud and protecting customer assets. Takes ownership of complex account servicing and error resolution issues, including escalated items. Provide coaching and guidance to reduce future problem resolution/escalations. Engage with all team members and business partners as appropriate. Independently process all Business Banking loan requests up to $250,000 and bundle products and services as appropriate. Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with company or regulatory standards and policies. Scope of Responsibilities This position reports to a Retail Regional Manager and leads the branch team to achieve annual sales and profitability goals. Branch Managers have responsibility to establish and maintain federal registration requirements outlined in the SAFE Act, stay current on operational, product, and system changes, demonstrate good risk‑management decisions, and maintain mandatory insurance licensing. They spend the majority of time growing business through proactive sales and outside calling activities and build productive partnerships within the bank to resolve customer, service, and employee issues in a timely and accurate manner. Supervisory / Managerial Responsibilities Branch Managers generally have direct reporting responsibility for branch staff, exercising authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations. Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s degree, or in lieu of a degree, four years’ relevant experience. Minimum three years sales experience. Minimum two years managerial experience or proven leadership abilities. At the discretion of the Retail Manager, Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing required within 18 months, with mandatory training provided within 6 months. M&T Business Banking Specialist licensing required within 18 months of hire. Demonstrated strong knowledge of Business Banking products, services, and client relationship management. M&T Way Certified Precision Leadership certification, bilingual Spanish preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general PC use; internet and email experience preferred. Education and Experience Preferred Demonstrated sales/business development experience and success. Fundamental understanding of profitability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to coach exceptional customer service. Professional communication with all levels of personnel and business partners. Strong financial services product knowledge. Strong organization, time‑management, and prioritization skills. Fluency in written and verbal communication in both English and a second language. Compensation Pay range: $72,200.00 - $120,300.00 (USD). Salary will be determined by knowledge, skills, and experience.
