Chemist I - GC VOA (Multiple Shifts) Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest - Calscience, Tustin, CA

Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest seeks a Chemist I to prepare and analyze environmental samples using gas chromatography following EPA protocols. The role involves sample preparation, data evaluation, instrument maintenance, and compliance with quality assurance standards in a production laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare water and soil samples for analysis by purge and trap gas chromatography
- Evaluate chromatography results for qualitative and quantitative criteria
- Monitor and manage sample backlog to meet client program deadlines
- Perform basic instrument maintenance including column replacement and ion source cleaning
- Upload and peer review data using laboratory information management system
Requirements
- 1+ years operating a GC in academic or production laboratory
- BS or BA in chemistry or related field; 3 years lab experience may substitute
- Effective time management and multitasking abilities
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and evaluate data
- Work independently following written and verbal instructions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Compensation: $18–$22 per hour depending on qualifications and experience
