Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Progressive Care Unit Team!

Job Description:


- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
- Unit Overview:
- 41-bed progressive care trauma/telemetry unit
- Focused on adult patients recovering from traumatic injuries typically needing surgical intervention
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4, flexing to 1:5 as needed
- Equipped with telemetry monitoring for up to 14 patients
- Patient Diagnoses:
- Surgical trauma related to gunshot wounds, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls
- Required Certifications:
- AHA ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience Needed:
- Minimum 2 years for first-time travelers
- 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Scheduled Commitment:
- 36 hours/week with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Interdisciplinary Support:
- Collaborate with IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
- Special Procedures/Unit Details:
- Engage in the management of various procedures including:
- Blood product administration
- Central line care/management
- Chest tube management
- Tracheostomy care
- Wound care and more
- Additional Notes:
- Must be willing to float to other units and campuses as needed
- Pre-assignment testing and modules to be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract
- Opportunity for reimbursement for hours spent on modules (up to 16 hours)
