Position Title: Household Manager

Location: Lehigh County and surrounding areas

Schedule: Monday–Friday (Part-Time or Full-Time)

Compensation: Starting at $23-$30+/hour , commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Household Manager to support private households through The Nanny Loft.

This is an agency-employed position in which the Household Manager may be assigned to one or more client households based on client needs and scheduling. The ideal candidate is a self-directed professional who thrives in managing household operations independently while maintaining exceptional standards of organization, efficiency, and professionalism.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys creating order, anticipating needs, implementing systems, and ensuring that every aspect of the household operates smoothly. Similar to executive household management roles, this position requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This is not a nanny position. While occasional child supervision may be required, the primary focus is household operations, organization, logistics, and family support.

Primary Responsibilities

Household Operations & Organization:

• Maintain exceptional standards of household organization and daily upkeep.
• Oversee the functionality of kitchens, bathrooms, living spaces, storage areas, and household systems.
• Implement and maintain organizational systems throughout the home.
• Perform light household maintenance between professional cleanings.
• Manage pantry organization, inventory, and household supplies.

Laundry & Linen Management:

• Manage full-cycle laundry and garment care.
• Rotate linens and maintain bedding.
• Organize closets, storage areas, and seasonal items.

Home Logistics:

• Coordinate grocery shopping and household supply procurement.
• Receive deliveries and coordinate vendor access when needed.
• Prepare the home for travel, guests, school transitions, and special events.
• Independently manage household projects and ongoing operational tasks.

Family Support:

• Provide occasional child supervision when needed.
• Work comfortably in homes with children and pets.
• Support the overall efficiency and organization of the household.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience as a Household Manager, House Manager, Estate Assistant, Executive Housekeeper, or similar position.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage household operations.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
• Professional discretion and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and follow-through.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening, fingerprinting, and employment clearances.

Essential Physical Functions of the Position:

The following physical functions are considered essential functions of this position and are required to safely and effectively perform the duties of a Household Manager:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday, including repeatedly navigating multiple flights of stairs.
• Ability to frequently bend, kneel, crouch, squat, twist, reach overhead, and perform repetitive physical movements.
• Ability to perform housekeeping duties including laundry, organization, meal preparation, cleaning, and general household maintenance.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and transport groceries, household supplies, laundry, and other household items.
• Ability to frequently enter and exit vehicles while traveling between client homes or running household errands.
• Ability to safely work in private homes with children, pets, stairs, and varying household environments.
• Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to household emergencies or other unexpected situations involving children, pets, household safety, or property.
