COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT: This position is in a collective bargaining unit. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for designing, documenting, developing, modifying, testing, installing, implementing, and supporting new or existing applications software. Duties include, but are not limited to: analyzing and refining system requirements and translating requirements into applications; participating on project teams to establish business requirements for agency systems and providing technical solutions; planning and coordinating the installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of business applications; planning and designing systems architecture; resolving technical issues/deficiencies identified during internal and external audits; evaluating new applications software technologies and providing recommendations; installing, configuring, testing, and implementing vendor supplied modifications to existing database and tax application software; developing and evaluating test data to validate program modifications; working with security staff to document and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance. Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of progressive experience in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of application software; production support of enterprise applications; translating business requirements into technical solutions; and effectively interacting with various stakeholders. Knowledge and experience of GenTax application software and a degree in computer science or a related field, is highly desired.
Specialized Experience
Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
