We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk / AP-AR Specialist to join a finance team during an exciting transitional period. This role will work closely with the Senior Accountant and support key accounting functions, including high-volume accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, payroll journal entries, data management, and month-end accounting activities.

• Gain practical experience working within an Enterprise ERP system
• Utilize Excel to manage, upload, and maintain accounting data
• Receive support and training on company-specific Excel processes and templates

Responsibilities:

• Process high-volume accounts payable transactions, averaging 100–200 invoices per week
• Enter and maintain accounts receivable records, including billing and sales tax-related transactions
• Prepare and enter payroll-related journal entries
• Utilize Excel to create, manage, and upload accounting data into the Enterprise ERP system
• Perform accurate and timely data entry while ensuring data integrity
• Assist with month-end close activities and journal entry preparation
• Review, reconcile, and maintain accounting records as needed
• Collaborate with the Senior Accountant and Finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial processing
• Follow established accounting procedures and quickly adapt to new processes and system updates

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting Clerk, or a similar accounting support role
• Strong data entry, organizational, and administrative skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with spreadsheets and templates
• Experience using ERP or accounting software systems
• Ability to learn new processes quickly and work independently with minimal supervision
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preparing and entering payroll journal entries
• Experience handling sales tax transactions
• Experience working within an Enterprise ERP environment
• Government, municipal, or public-sector accounting experience
• Additional accounting coursework or certifications are a plus

This is a Contract position based out of Black Hawk, CO.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
