Key facts Location: Washington, District of Columbia Engagement: Full-time What you’ll do Oversee the entire logistics process, from order placement to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to manage inventory levels and optimize stock replenishment. Develop and implement logistics strategies that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Monitor and analyze transportation costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved service levels. Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and invoices. Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure proper handling and storage of products, minimizing damage and loss. Utilize logistics software and tools to track shipments and manage inventory data effectively. Address and resolve any logistical issues that may arise, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies in shipments. Conduct regular audits of logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable logistics support. Provide regular updates and reports to management on logistics performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall supply chain efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics coordination or supply chain management. Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, including inventory management and transportation. Proficiency in logistics software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to logistics and transportation. Nice to have Experience with international shipping and customs regulations. Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP software. Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CLTD). Previous experience in e-commerce logistics or retail supply chain operations. Understanding of sustainability practices in logistics and supply chain management. Skills & tools Proficient in logistics management software and tools, including inventory tracking systems and transportation management systems. Strong analytical skills to assess logistics performance and identify areas for improvement. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and external partners. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong negotiation skills for working with vendors and service providers. Practical notes This position is based in Washington, D.C., and may require occasional travel to supplier or warehouse locations.
